Activision Blizzard and meat snack brand Jack Link’s have teamed up for a promotion that add multiple Sasquatch cosmetics to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just in time for launch day. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released today and like with previous installments in the franchise and the original Warzone, cosmetics like these in the game will also carry over to Warzone 2 so that players can express themselves in both Call of Duty formats.
Jack Link’s has confirmed the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 promotion with a statement giving details about the Sasquatch items and a tweet that followed which included GIFs of the available cosmetics. Because Modern Warfare 2 just released, some players are clambering for flashy cosmetics that may help them stand out from the crowd, and the Jack Link’s promotion may be what some of them are looking for. Beyond the cosmetics available through buying Jack Link’s products, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has promotions with other brands with their own exclusives and there’s an in-game shop that offers further customization options.
Jack Link’s has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fans that purchase the brand new limited-edition Jack Link’s Spicy Dill Pickle Pork Strips from Walmart or bags of Jack Link’s products that are specially marked will receive a code for the game. This code includes double XP and unlocks up to four cosmetics like an animated emblem and calling card, a weapon charm, and a Sasquatch Operator skin. Matching the theme of the skin, the first three tiers are all Sasquatch-related items to round out a lot of the available customization options at launch, with the only thing missing being a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 weapon blueprint.
The tweet shared by Jack Link’s showing off the available loot highlights a Sasquatch emblem of the creature wearing a helmet with camouflage waving around to emphasize motion. The animated calling card has an enraged Sasquatch raising a log to its mouth intimidatingly and biting down on it hard enough to snap it into pieces. The Sasquatch weapon charm shares more similarities with the classic Patterson-Gimlin footage of the supposed creature than the animated calling card, while the Operator skin is as if the developers turned Bigfoot into a Call of Duty Ghillie suit.
Because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Jack Link’s has some overlapping fans, several Twitter users have expressed their enthusiasm for the promotion. While some players are still looking for available Jack Link’s products with the corresponding art, others are reporting success in redeeming the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 codes like Burger King ones before them to progress towards the Sasquatch skin.
