One of the most noticeable aspects of Red Dead Redemption 2 is the cinematic nature of its storytelling. While managing to splice in moments of user interactivity to accompany character interactions, the narrative of Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as many of the character portrayals seen throughout the game, is something that many fans have latched onto. Now, one such fan has given others the opportunity to see what a Red Dead Redemption movie adaptation could potentially look like.
Many in the gaming community have taken to doing fake casting calls for hypothetical movie adaptations of certain games, with some being of a higher quality than others. Despite video game movies having such a notoriously poor reputation, there are a number of video game series, such as Red Dead Redemption, that tell wonderfully unique and engaging stories that lend themselves to the big screen in a signficant way.
A TikTok User named W11KO made a video that shows the cast list for an imaginary Red Dead Redemption 2 movie, and the selection is quite broad. The video showcases a plethora of iconic actors playing characters from Red Dead Redemption 2, such as Woody Harrelson as Micah Bell, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Dutch Van der Linde, and Chris Hemsworth as Arthur Morgan, to name a select few.
For a number of selections, it’s incredibly easy to imagine the chosen actors playing particular characters from Red Dead Redemption 2. Some of them are particularly good, though, such as John C. Reilly playing Uncle from Red Dead Redemption 2. Given Uncle’s propensity for laziness and comedic relief, an actor that specializes in comedy roles like John C. Reilly would make a terrific casting.
In any case, it’s amazing to see just how relevant Red Dead Redemption 2 has remained in the eyes of the gaming community. Despite releasing over three years ago, many players have continued to celebrate various aspects of Red Dead Redemption 2, such as Arthur Morgan’s epic roasts.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Red Dead Redemption going forward. While the bulk of new Red Dead Redemption related content has come in the form of Red Dead Online, many fans are wondering what’s in store for the franchise. Considering the eight year gap between the first Red Dead Redemption game and its sequel, though, it’s likely that there won’t be a new installment anytime soon.
